Jodhana Heritage Resorts are skirting the hill station of Mount Abu, traversing the jungles of Ranakpur before entering the majestic blue city of Jodhpur then spanning across the luminous Thar desert. Each resort's distinct characteristic is a testimony to the heritage of the Royal family of Marvar Jodhpur.
All our properties are mesmerising: The Connaught House is a colonial villa built during the British Raj, Maharani Bagh Orchard Retreat is an astounding jungle resort, Bal Samand Lake Palace is the beautiful Monsoon Palace and the Royal stables and Ranvas, a UNESCO award recipient, is a unique Palace within the walls of a 4th-century fort. A Tented Camp is part of this group.
The Jodhana Collection, comprising of the Royal family's personal vacation homes designed in true regal style and comfort, has opened its doors to the discerning traveller for a truly royal experience.
After a restoration programme lasting seventeen years, the great fort and palaces have come to life and the zenana deori – the women’s quarters at Ranvas – have been beautifully restored as luxury accommodation. The places themselves are wonderful, the paintings now uncovered and cleaned, marble pillars stripped of plaster and the water features restored to working order.
These graceful havelis at Ranvas reaffirm the place of tradition in the Rajasthani hotel-scape. A picturesque regal residence – the 18th century home of Ranis of Maharaja Bakht Singh of Jodhpur – Ranvas heritage property is situated in the Nagaur Fort. With 10 havelis, each housing three rooms along with a private courtyard. The Ranvas plays the perfect backdrop to your own private Jodha- Akbar royal romance.
Bal Samamand Lake Palace as the name suggests, it’s a palace – not one made to look like one but one where the actual Maharaja comes over to stay now and then, and indeed there is a lake. We’re not talking a nice view of a nearby lake – but a whole entire lake, owned exclusively by Bal Samand, and built exclusively to beautify the palace.
Spread across the 18th Century havelis (private quarters) built for the queens of the Maharaja of Jodhpur, Ranvas retains an air of elegance. Conceived as a pleasure palace its common spaces such as the courtyards are just as lovely as its bedrooms. From the open dining pavilion to the central courtyards with the preening peacocks. Lights floats through the intricate stone arches of the top floor Royal Suits.
Most peaceful, harmonious and beautiful palace. Artistic and well restored and conserved… Evening was magical in ‘Deepak Mahal’. Enjoyed the warm hospitality of your respectful staff. Thank You.
My visits to Bal Saman have truly been unforgettable especially in the early years; it’s really surreal, where time stood still! It takes you back to the royalty and another era - it’s a world of its own!The cuisine is unmatchable along with the service! The entire place makes you feel like royalty yourself with their impeccable hospitality.A timeless memory always can’t wait get their again!
Bal Samand Lake Palace is a hidden jewel in Jodhpur. 300 acres of paradise. The horse stables in the rocky valley, the Red stone palace on the massive lakes and the fountains and waterway across the orchards make for the perfect family getaway resort. The Rajasthani food is outstanding as is the service.
One of my favourite jungle Safari holidays with my family would have to be Maharani Bagh Orchard Retreat in the Ranakpur Jungles. The resort is situated within its own private forests that have abundance of animal and bird life. It was all the more exciting because we were camping in tents (luxury) front of a water body, eating front of born fire, the food was absolutely outstanding. This property has such a lovely historical romantic anecdote to it, as Maharani Bagh (Queens Garden) was given as a present to his Queen by Maharajah Takaht Singh in the early 19th century.
